Herbouw schuifstuw de Kap

De Rijksmonumentale schuifstuw de Kap in de rivier de Berkel dateert uit 1925. De stuw is opgebouwd uit een betonnen stuwlichaam met daarbovenop een stalen hijsconstructie om de stalen schuiven naar boven te kunnen hijsen. Bijzonder aan de schuiven is dat ze in hoogte verschillen: naar boven toe worden ze minder hoog. De schuiven zijn op zo een manier verbonden met elkaar dat de balken één voor één omhoog worden getrokken.

Het stuwlichaam bestaat uit gewapend beton waarin de Alkali-silicareactie (ASR) de oorzaak is voor de slechte staat van het beton. Het beton is in dermate slecht staat dat er in overleg met de Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed (RCE) en gemeente Zutphen is besloten tot sloop en herbouw van de stuw. Heel simpel gezegd betekend dit dat de stuw er aan de buitenkant hetzelfde uit zal zien, maar inwendig (constructief) verbeterd wordt om aan de huidige geldende eisen te voldoen.

In opdracht van Waterschap Rijn en IJssel werken wij aan de stukken voor de aanvraag omgevingsvergunning. De uitgangspunten voor de nieuwe situatie inclusief een ontwerp voor de te vernieuwen brug en het leuningswerk zullen worden vastgelegd in bouwkundige tekeningen en een bouwkundig bestek t.b.v. de uitvoering.
